Year 8 Residential London Trip 2026

Our annual Year 8 residential trip to London proved to be a highly memorable and enriching experience for all involved.
The trip began with a visit to Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, where pupils took part in an engaging session on The Art of Foley and explored the impressive studio exhibits, before enjoying time in the gift shop. The group then travelled into central London, settled into their accommodation, and headed out for an evening walk along the South Bank. Here, they took in stunning views of the illuminated Tower Bridge and enjoyed dinner at Pizza Express.
The following day, pupils explored several of London’s most iconic landmarks and enjoyed a truly memorable experience. The day began with a walk to the Churchill War Rooms, where pupils learned about Britain’s wartime history. During the day, the group also caught a glimpse of the President of Nigeria and the First Lady as their motorcade passed by during a historic State Visit—the first of its kind in 37 years.
Pupils walked through St James's Park to Buckingham Palace where they enjoyed time to relax in the sunshine and have lunch. They then made their way down The Mall, before heading to the London Eye to take in panoramic views of the city. Earlier in the day, pupils also had the opportunity to watch the Changing of the Guard at Horse Guards Parade.
The group returned to their accommodation to prepare for an evening meal out followed by an exciting theatre visit—bringing to a close what was truly a fabulous day.
On their final day, pupils visited the historic Tower of London, where they also witnessed the ceremonial 41-gun salute marking the State Visit of the President of Nigeria.
Throughout the trip, pupils demonstrated excellent behaviour and enthusiasm, making the most of every opportunity. We are incredibly proud of Year 8 and thank them for representing the school so well on what has been a thoroughly enjoyable and successful residential visit.
