Cross Country County Finals

A select group of runners headed to Kings Park for the Dorset County Finals at the end of February. While a few of our key runners were unfortunately sidelined by injuries, the rest of the squad arrived primed and ready to tackle the challenging course.
After walking the route and discussing race tactics, the event got underway with the Year 5 and 6 girls leading the way, followed in quick succession by the other age groups. With over 500 children competing from across the county, the field was incredibly strong, and for many of our pupils this was their first experience of competition at such a high level.
A special mention goes to Eliza, who secured a superb 9th place finish! We also saw impressive performances from Nathan (17th), Gabriel (21st), and Rose (24th).
Our teams also performed brilliantly:
Year 7 girls – 4th place
Year 5 & 6 girls – 6th place
Year 5 & 6 boys – 7th place
Congratulations to everyone who took part. You gave your absolute best, represented the school beautifully, and showed fantastic team spirit in encouraging one another.
Finally, we are all crossing our fingers for a speedy recovery for Harry, who is currently on the reserve list for the English Schools competition later this month!
