The project was designed to give the girls the opportunity to experience playing on astro facilities, benefit from high-quality coaching, and then put their skills into practice in a friendly festival of matches.

The afternoon was full of energy and enthusiasm. Our girls formed three teams and played a series of short matches against St Michaels Middle School, Lockyer's Middle School and the hosts. It was fantastic to see their confidence grow as they adapted to the pace and skill of the game.

With the aim of inspiring the girls to continue hockey when they move on to QE—or even join a local club—the event provided a valuable and memorable experience. There was some real talent on display, and it would be wonderful to see many of them continue their hockey journey in the future.
