County Football Girls Final

U12 Girls v Bournemouth School for Girls (0–7)

The girls showed tremendous determination and spirit against English Schools National Cup finalists Bournemouth School for Girls, putting in a performance that far exceeded what the score line suggests.

AMS were defensively solid in the first half, holding firm under pressure and frustrating the opposition for over 23 minutes before the deadlock was finally broken. A second goal just before half time was a tough blow after such a resilient display.

In the second half, the girls continued to battle bravely in the warm sunshine, working tirelessly and showing great character, but were unable to find a breakthrough in front of goal. The match ultimately turned on moments of individual brilliance from the opposition’s #10 and #11.

There were some standout performances across the team—Jess L made a series of outstanding saves in goal under constant pressure, Amelia W was resolute in defence, and Lily O showed incredible work rate in midfield, never stopping her pressing and chasing.

A strong effort against top-level opposition, with plenty to be proud of.
